Roy Philpott started the Fox Sports-affiliated web site CUTigers.com in 2001 and has covered Clemson University sports on a fulltime basis ever since. CUTigers is one of the largest team-specific web sites on the Internet, covering Clemson football, basketball, baseball and recruiting.
He also helped develop the WCCP’s Tiger Pre-game Show, along with Scott Rhymer, in 2003 before hosting a variety of sports talk shows on WCCP and other stations.
Philpott, a 1999 Clemson graduate, is the current host of Clemson’s 5th Quarter Show and co-host of the Tiger Tailgate Show on the Clemson Tiger Sports Network, while still making regular appearances on the Tiger Pre-Game Show. He also serves as play-by-play man for Clemson baseball on all WCCP-only broadcasts, select network games and Lady Tiger basketball as well.
He handles play by play duties for WLOS/My40, Asheville’s (NC) ABC affiliate, for Friday Night Lights (high school football), Southern Conference football and select SoCon/Big South basketball games since 2008. Philpott has also served as play by play man for ESPN3 for select ACC basketball and high school football broadcasts.
